Who We Are

Torry Lighthouse Centre is a registered Scottish charity dedicated to supporting the people of Torry and the wider Aberdeen area through community-driven services, spaces, and partnerships.

Located in one of the largest multi-functional facilities in the area, the Centre has been established to serve as a hub for local engagement, wellbeing, learning, and enterprise. Our mission is to meet real needs through practical solutions, welcoming all individuals and families across the community.

Our Purpose

To operate a vibrant, accessible, and inclusive community facility that brings people together and supports the delivery of services that improve lives—socially, economically, and physically.

Our Objectives

  • Provide essential services such as childcare, warm spaces, and accessible fitness
  • Support social inclusion, wellbeing, and community resilience
  • Enable skills development and create opportunities for individuals and local businesses

What We Offer

Following the acquisition of the building (formerly the Torry Youth and Leisure Centre), the charity is progressing with the next phase of development, transforming the space into a multi-use community hub.

Once operational, the Torry Lighthouse Centre will host:

Early Years & Childcare Services

A professionally operated nursery and afterschool club offering high-quality, affordable childcare for families living and working in the area.

Fitness & Wellness Studio

A dedicated health and fitness space managed by experienced providers, promoting physical wellbeing, access to affordable exercise, and active living.

Coffee Shop

A warm and welcoming social space serving light meals, snacks, and refreshments—designed to foster connection and informal support.

Multipurpose Hall

A flexible venue for private hire, workshops, events, and community activitiesproviding a space for celebration, education, and collaboration.

Warm Spaces Initiative

A designated area open during winter months, offering warmth, comfort, and community for residents who may be vulnerable, isolated, or in need of support.

Business and Training Rooms

Multiple rooms available for rent by local businesses, service providers, and charities for office use, training sessions, and programme delivery.
